Rams start Portland road trip off with a win

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Colorado State volleyball team swept the Eastern Washington Eagles Thursday night in Portland to kick off the Portland Invitational with a win.
 
Colorado State (3) –Eastern Washington (0) – (25-16, 25-16, 25-23)
  • The Rams took the first set against the Eagles, 25-16, with Maria Brun leading with four kills. Halle Jameson, Eve Wilson, and Kekua Richards each contributed three kills to the set.
  • The second set began with a back-and-forth battle, but the Rams pulled ahead to take a 25-12 win. Richards and Wilson once again led the charge in kills helping to close out the set in dominance.
  • With the Eagles down to their final set, the Rams had to come from behind to take set three, 25-23, Colorado State finished with a total of 43 kills on the night.
  • Richards led the team with 11 kills while hitting .800, Jameson and Eve Wilson each with 10 kills. The Rams had a total of nine blocks throughout the match.
  • Erin Debiec led the team with a total of 33 assists, running the 5-1 offense for majority of the match.
  • Karsyn Fetzer and Brun both added two service aces to the campaign while the Ram defense passed at a perfect serve-reception percentage.
 
Up Next: Colorado State continues the week in Portland with a mutual-site match against CSUN Friday. The week finishes on Saturday when CSU travels to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks.
