Rams fall to Bears in a tight, five-set match
GREELEY -- The Colorado State volleyball team came up short against the Northern Colorado Bears Tuesday night in a five-set thriller, taking the first and fourth sets.

Up Next: The Colorado State Rams continue on the road to finish a four-game week in only the second week of the regular season. In Portland, Oregon, the Rams will play two neutral site games against Eastern Washington and CSUN before rounding the week out against the Oregon Ducks in Euguene. Â Â Â

Northern Colorado (3), Colorado State (2) – 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 15-12
- The Rams took the first set against the Bears, 25-23 in a tight, back and forth fashion with 13 tie scores and four lead changes. Kekua Richards came out swinging with four total kills. Brenna Rowland and Eve Wilson both had three kills of their own.
- Northern Colorado took set two and three with Colorado State scoring a total of 39 points to their opponents' 50. Wilson finished the second frame with four kills and the third with three. Maria Brun and Jazen DeBina each contributed three kills in the third set.
- Colorado State found its rhythm once again in the fourth, keeping it close, forcing a final score of 25-21 and forcing a fifth set. Wilson carried over her momentum and found herself with five kills.
- With yet more back and forth, the Rams fell in the deciding set 15-12. Halle Jameson added two kills, along with DeBina and Wilson.
- Richards closed out the night with seven kills and a team leading eight total blocks. Wilson led the team in kills with 17 total. Brun and DeBina both collected 10 kills on the night.
- Splitting the setter duties was Erin Debiec and Zosia Szczotkiewicz who totaled 29 and 16 assists respectively.
