Rams Set For Ambitious 2025-26 Campaign

Team will host two home meets, one at Moby Pool

FORT COLLINS  – With a mix of the standard rivalries and a return to the past, coach Christopher Woodard's Colorado State's women's swimming and diving team is set to embark on an ambitious schedule for the 2025-26 campaign.

The team will prep for the season with the Horsetooth Open Water swim at Horsetooth Reservoir on Sept. 7, about a month before the team heads into competition season. That will open with the Front Range Invitational, held Oct. 3-4, at Denver. The Rams will close out the first month with the first of two home meets, the first a triangular with the Pioneers and Colorado Mesa at EPIC on Oct. 24. A week later, they hit the road for the Border War showdown with Wyoming on Halloween.

"We believe this is a schedule which will challenge us from start to finish, capping each check point with a formidable test," Woodard said. "We close the opening month with our rivals from the north, and the return to the Phill Hansel Invitational has always proven to be a strong meet for us to close the first half. The back side is filled with teams always looking to get the better of us, be they Mountain West foes or Northern Colorado. By the time we head to Houston for the Mountain West Championships, we will be battle ready."

November opens with a two-day road trip, first to face Mountain West foe Washington State on Nov. 7, crossing the border the day after to take on Idaho. The first half of the season closes with a return to the Phill Hansel Invitational at the University of Houston from Nov. 19-21 – the site of the Mountain West Championships.

The second half opens with a pair of road trips in a five-day span, starting at Northern Arizona on Jan. 5 (the only team in program history the Rams have tied with in a dual), followed by a triangular hosted by Air Force on Jan. 10 which includes New Mexico.

Two weeks later, Colorado State swims at Moby Pool for Senior Day, taking on Northern Colorado on Jan. 24. The divers will close out the month with a tune up at the Air Force Diving Invite from Jan. 29-31.

The postseason starts with the Mountain West Championships on Feb. 18-21.

Woodard's squad posted a 6-3 mark last year, finishing strong by posting victories in their final five meets. The team returns a trio of Mountain West finalists, led by Erin Dawson, who is the two-time defending champion in the 400-yard individual medley, as well as Tess Whineray and Lexie Trietley. The roster has been retooled with a freshman class of 12 performers, three of whom are divers.
