Divers finish competition at Air Force Invite
AIR FORCE ACADEMY  – One has to start someplace, and this was the season for a trio of freshman Colorado State divers to learn about the platform.
Â
Saturday's final day of the Air Force Diving Invitational brought with it the tower, a set of four heights to dive from where the team has limited experience. Riley Lee scored a 147.95, Makenna Post 130.00 and Noelle Tobin 121.30.
Â
"Riley continues to impress with most of her dives. The basics are there in her repertoire in all the events," CSU diving coach Chris Bergere said. "Riley is willing and able to do a very competitive list. Time is the one element you can't control, and training and maturity take time. Looking ahead, it looks bright.Â
Â
"Makenna and Noelle are just very new to competitive Division I diving. Both show ability but are not competitive yet. It takes time. With further training and hard work, it is possible. Everyone has a starting point, then it's up to the individual to commit."
Â
Overall, Bergere felt the whole group was better from the three-day experience. Maggie Di Scipio, who took the day off to rest a sore shoulder, and Lee will move forward as the season concludes for the entire team at the Mountain West Championships in Houston, Feb. 19-22. The Rams placed third as a team at the meet last year.
