Michael Wilson resigns as men’s golf head coach to take same position at alma mater
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State men's golf coach Michael Wilson resigned from his position on Monday. The two-year coach will take on the same role at his alma mater Cal.
"We appreciate the work and effort of Michael during his two years in Fort Collins," Director of Athletics John Weber said. "He continued the strong tradition of our men's golf program and leaves a talented team poised for continued success for our next leader."
Wilson helped the Rams continue their NCAA Regional pedigree earning a berth to the regionals both seasons. Colorado State men's golf has made three straight NCAA Regional appearances and five times in the past seven seasons. Overall, CSU has made 21 NCAA Regional appearances. The 2022-23 team earned the program's third NCAA Championship appearance.
Assistant coach Luke Vivolo will serve as interim head coach as we begin an immediate national search for the program's next head coach.
