Rams in Contention at NCAA Regional

Colorado State goes under par during the second round
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Colorado State men's golf will enter the final round of the NCAA West Lafayette Regional in contention to advance to the NCAA Championships after their 1-under 287 on Tuesday. All five Rams shot 73 or better in the second round.

Connor Jones and Christoph Bleier tied for the best round with matching 1-under 71s. Jones had a bogey-free round going through 16 sitting at 4-under before a couple of hiccups at the end of the round. The graduate student is even par for the tournament and tied for 22nd.

Bleier made the turn at even before coming home to the clubhouse with a 1-under 35 on the back nine including a pair of birdies. He is a stroke behind Jones on the leaderboard at 1-over, tied for 28th.

Rasmus Hejelm finished the day at even par with four birdies. Matthew Wilkinson and Jay Pabin shot 1-over74s. Wilkinson showed great ability to overcome adversity after struggling in the first round.

Colorado State enters the final round 10 strokes outside of the all-important top 5, currently held by Florida. They are currently in eighth place at 8-over.
