Head coach Niko Medved picks up 100th win at Colorado State

LAS VEGAS – In the city of flashy lights and glamour it took a gritty, determined effort by Colorado State on Saturday night to earn the 86-81 victory over Washington. The Rams found a way to improve to 8-0 on the season and deliver head coach Niko Medved his 100th win as the leader of the Green & Gold.

The Rams had to battle through an ejection, foul trouble and physical play to earn the win.

Starter Nique Clifford was ejected at 14:21 in the first half when a flagrant 2 was called on a screen on the defensive end.

Instead of letting the moment get to them the veteran Colorado State squad responded with a 14-0 run to up nine.

The Huskies chip away at the Rams' lead while also getting CSU into foul trouble in the process.

Isaiah Stevens picked up his third foul with 5:28 left in the half and had to sit on the bench for the rest of it. Washington seized the momentum, taking the lead and pushing it to seven. The adversity didn't get in the Rams' way as they entered the half down 44-41.

The second half was all about finding a way. An 8-0 run near the midway mark of the second half increased UW's lead back to seven.

Colorado State continued to grind and find a way. Tying the game with 7:47 remaining.

Joel Scott's three with 1:10 remaining game gave CSU the lead for good off an offensive rebound.

A few stops, Josiah Strong free throw and layup sealed the deal.

Game Notes
- Joel Scott led the team with 17 points, none bigger than his made three in the final 90 seconds. He also led the team with eight rebounds.
