QUOTES
Haley Donaldson on her success at the plate…
"I was just sticking to my plan as a hitter. I wasn't playing what the pitcher wanted, I was playing what I wanted.
Donaldson on the Mountain West Conference opening win…
"It's really good. It's a really good start for us and it gets our momentum going for the rest of the conference season."
Head Coach Jen Fisher on Bridgette Hutton going the distance…
"The whole team talked about how badly they wanted to win it for Bridgette. She pitched a great game and I think in the 10 innings, she missed one pitch. We talked before the last inning and as a team we said we wanted to get it done for Bridgette. She played good defense and she had a huge part in that win."
Head Coach Fisher on the conference opening win…
"It was really good to win in walk-off fashion. I thought the top of our order showed a lot of composure, but we can't take innings off offensively. We've been in this situation already this year where our pitcher is throwing a fantastic game and offensively we haven't come through. I think our team is finally starting to feel that. It is good to get win, but I hope it is an eye opener that we can't take innings off offensively."
STAT OF THE DAY
Haley Donaldson finished 3-for-4 from the dish, including recording three RBI. She also hit two doubles and the game inning single.
