All-WWPA first team (2013)
2013 (Senior): Became CSU's second-ever first-team All-WWPA selection... As team captain, led the Rams with 41 assists, which ranks second all-time... For her career, she finished with a program-best 102 career helpers... Also ranked second with 59 goals and 36 ejections drawn... Those totals rank sixth and ninth, respectively, in single-season history... She held 94 career drawn ejections, which ranks fifth...On the season, scored in 29 total games, including the final 20... Ranked ninth in the WWPA in goals and fifth in assists, one of four players to be ranked in the top 10 of both categories.
2012 (Junior): Was dominant as a junior, leading the Rams in ejections drawn, with 42... The total ranks sixth in CSU single-season history... Recorded six against Loyola Marymount (April 28), tied for first in single-game history... Also established a new program record for assists in a season with 38--she now ranks second as teammate Caroline Young also broke the previous record in 2012... Her assists-per-game figure (1.2) ranked eighth nationally... Was among the top three on her team in goals (38; third), assists (38; second), steals (32; third) and ejections drawn (42; first)... Between March 10 and April 15, she recorded a goal in 13 consecutive games, one shy of the program record.
2011 (Sophomore): Played in all 29 games during her first season at CSU... Scored 33 goals, fourth most on the team... Tallied 23 assists, also fourth most.
Air Force Academy: Attended the Air Force Academy during the 2009-10 academic year, participating on the Falcons' swimming & diving team.
High School: Graduated from St. Francis High School in 2009... Lettered four years in both water polo and swimming & diving... In water polo, was a four-time first-team all-league member and three-time first-team all-section performer... Was also a two-time All-American... Named her water polo team's captain during her senior year... In swimming, was a four-time first-team all-metro selection... Earned three first-team all-section swimming awards... Team captain as a senior... Also swam for California Capital Aquatics... Member of High Honor Roll all four years... Two-time Scholastic All-American.
Personal: Born in Carmichael, Calif., and raised in Roseville... Is the youngest of four daughters to Marty and Janet Schaefer... Her father played football at San Jose State... Her two oldest sisters swam collegiately (Valerie at Northridge and Lindsay at Air Force), while Cassie played water polo at UC Davis... Is earning a communications degree at CSU with a minor in business administration.
