FORT COLLINS, Colo.—With the anticipation and excitement building of a possible 18th consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, the Colorado State volleyball team will be holding an NCAA tournament Selection Show watch party for its fans on Sunday afternoon.
The watch party will take place from 1-3:30 p.m. MT in the upper level of CB & Potts (1415 W. Elizabeth), and food and drink specials will be available.
Head Coach Tom Hilbert and the entire team will be in attendance, and around 1:30 p.m., Hilbert will speak to the crowd about what he expects to be revealed before the selection process is aired on ESPNU at 2 p.m.
After the pairings are announced and the field is finalized, Hilbert will again address the crowd about what to expect looking forward to the NCAA tournament. He and his players will be available for interviews with accredited media afterward.
The Rams (20-7, 12-3 MW) close out the regular season Friday with a crucial conference match against New Mexico at 7 p.m. MT at Moby Arena. With a win, the Rams will be crowned Mountain West champions—along with San Diego State, which won at least a share of the title Tuesday. Even with a tie, the Rams will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament because of the conference’s tiebreaking process. CSU is on the verge of its fourth consecutive league title, and 10th in the conference’s 14-year history.
Prior to Friday’s match, CSU’s four seniors will be honored for their contributions to the program. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
Fans without tickets can also get into the match at a discounted rate. General admission tickets are just $4 and youth tickets have been marked down to $2 with a coupon. Coupons can be picked up at the McGraw Athletic Center ticket office. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone at 1-800-491-RAMS and online.
