FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State volleyball program has signed Dana Cranston to a National Letter of Intent, Head Coach Tom Hilbert announced Thursday.

Cranston joins Tori Brummett and Lisa Parlich, who both signed Nov. 12, in the Rams' class of 2010.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter will join the Rams from Fort St. John, British Columbia and North Peace Secondary School.

"Dana has club experience and is identified as one of the top junior players in Canada," said Hilbert. "We have had a long line of terrific Canadian players who have made great contributions here. I am excited to have another."

She was one of 30 athletes invited to try out for the Canadian Junior National Team and was a Team BC all-star in 2007 and 2008. She was named the most outstanding athlete at her high school in 2007-08 as well as earning honorable-mention honors during the 2007 British Columbia 4A high school provincials. This season, she was named the MVP of her high school zone. She also received the top student award as a sophomore. Cranston is a member of the FSJ ICE club volleyball team.

"Dana is a tall, athletic young lady with a solid skill set," said Hilbert. "She is versatile and can play a lot of positions. She is already a very skilled blocker so she will fit well into one of our strengths as team."
