LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After three road wins over the past week, the Colorado State Rams are once again receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll. The poll was released by the AVCA on Monday afternoon.
CSU, which began the year at No. 25 and improved to No. 24 after a 3-0 start to the season, fell out of the rankings in the third week of the season. They briefly were receiving votes again a week later, but not since Sept. 10.
All-time, CSU has been ranked in 237 of the AVCA’s 445 polls, 14th-most in the country.
Four of CSU’s 2012 opponents are currently ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll. UCLA is ranked No. 7, while BYU is ranked No. 16. Both Tennessee and Pepperdine are receiving votes, and Oklahoma, San Diego State and Wichita State have each received votes at some point this season, as well.
The Rams are currently on a seven-match winning streak, which is the longest streak of the year. CSU will test that streak when it hosts the New Mexico Lobos on Friday at 7 p.m. MT. With a win over the Lobos, the Rams will earn at least a share of the Mountain West title, and earn the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA tournament—the program’s 18th straight appearance.
Prior to Friday’s match, CSU’s four seniors will be recognized for their contributions to the program.
Tickets for the match vs. New Mexico can be purchased online, over the phone at 1-800-491-RAMS or in person at the McGraw Athletic Center.
