FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Sophomore Dana Cranston has been recognized for her tremendous effort in the classroom, as she was selected to the second-team CoSIDA/ESPN academic all-district team for District 7.  The announcement was made Wednesday.

A business administration major from Fort St. John, British Columbia, Cranston currently holds a near-perfect 3.96 grade-point average. On the court she plays right side hitter for the Rams. Cranston has played in in each of the Rams’ matches, helping CSU to a 20-2 record and a No. 14 national ranking.  She has played in 74 sets, tallying 41 kills, 35 assists, 17 service aces, 15 blocks and 143 digs.

In order for student-athletes to be eligible to receive the award, they must hold a sophomore standing, be a contributor to the team, and hold a GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Cranston was one of four Mountain West Conference student-athletes to be honored.  Air Force’s Caroline Kurtz and Wyoming’s JennaRae Jester each earned first-team nods for District 7.  Air Force’s Nichole Stilwell joined Cranston on the District 7 second team.
