LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Following one of the most difficult stretches in program history—one in which CSU played four teams in four days, all against teams who are or have been ranked or receiving votes this season—CSU fell out of the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 poll, which was released Monday.

The Rams began the season at No. 25, and moved up to No. 24 following a 3-0 start. However, after dropping three of four matches over the weekend, CSU fell out of the poll.

Two of this past weekend’s opponents are ranked—Tennessee is at No. 16 after losing to BYU, which is now ranked No. 21. Wichita State is also receiving votes.

CSU will have a chance to show it belongs back in the polls on Friday when Pepperdine comes to town to begin the Rams Volleyball Classic, presented by PVH. The Waves moved up one spot to No. 12. UCLA, the defending national champions, stayed put at No. 3. The Bruins will play at Moby Arena on Sept. 15.

Mountain West foe San Diego State continued to earn points in the poll and is the conference’s only team receiving votes.

In its history, CSU has been ranked in 237 of the AVCA’s 433 all-time polls, 15th-most in the nation. For the entire poll, click here.
