CSU alum to play volleyball in AVP Crocs tour this weekend

By Danielle Marshall Angela Knopf is making a stop close to home, in Boulder with the AVP Crocs tour Friday-Sunday at Folsom Field. There she will be playing beach volleyball with teammate Sarah Straton. Knopf, who played volleyball at CSU from 1998-2001, has won countless awards and still holds many school records. The former middle blocker is the all-time leader in service aces with 138, block assists with 546, and total blocks with 630. Her name also appears several times on the top 10 lists in many other categories. For a complete list of all-time Colorado State volleyball records, click here. Soon after her CSU career, Knopf became a member of the 2002 USA national volleyball team. She also entered and won many tournaments, jump starting her beach volleyball career. Knopf was inducted into the Colorado State Hall of Fame for all of her great achievements, on Nov. 3, 2006. After graduating in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a concentration in secondary education, Knopf taught math from 2004-06. Today she still works as a math tutor for 8-12 students a week.
