FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Head Coach Tom Hilbert and the Colorado State volleyball program offer some of the top summer camps in the country, and again in 2014, the Rams will host four camps to help teach the game and further skill development of those who have an interest and passion for volleyball.
The camps – which are instructed by the CSU volleyball student-athletes and coaching staff, plus other elite coaches in the area – range in age and skill level, and are offered throughout the summer.
Mighty Ram Youth Camp
May 31-June 1 | Grades 4-8
The Mighty Ram Youth Camp will serve the beginner, as well as the advanced, youth player in grades 4-8. Players will be divided into training groups according to skill level, and will be taught at a pace that is beneficial for each individual athlete. Each player will receive great instruction from the CSU coaching staff, as well as other elite-level coaches. This is a day camp only.
Colorado State’s Libero Camp
June 14 OR July 25 | Grades 7-12
Learn from former professional libero and Colorado State associate head coach Brook Coulter. The one-day camp is geared for players in grades 7-12 who have a strong interest and passion to pursue and improve their defense and serve-receive skills. Campers will be placed in a high-repetition and challenging environment, and will be exposed to various technical skills, including digging under/overhand, rolling, and serve-receive passing. Additionally, Coulter will introduce campers to the tactical responsibilities of a libero.
Elite Skills Camp
July 11-14 | Grades 9-12
Participants will be put through individual skills training and team-oriented drill training. The camp teaches skills, drills and methods used in the successful CSU volleyball program. The camp will also feature a Q&A with current college players. Campers will be divided into training groups according to skill level and taught at a pace that is most beneficial for the athlete. This camp is for local residents and commuters.
Team Development Camp
The Colorado State Team Development Camp has received praise as one of the finest camps of its kind. More than just competition, teams will compete and participate in team drills, team building and skill development. There will be daily practice sessions with the camp coaches, as well as live demonstrations of teams drills, and a guarantee of at least 12 matches and Championship Monday – the culmination of the week’s competition. The camp offers a great opportunity for your team to work on the skills and systems you plan to use this coming fall. It will allow you to bring your team together prior to the start of preseason and get a jump start on team concepts.
