Finished with 177 blocks, her third consecutive season with at least 100 and a career high...Led the team with 545 points, averaging 5.09 points per game...Named 2007 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year...Named MWC Player of the Week four times, back-to-back twice...Named Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week...Named AVCA all-region in the postseason...Became the eighth in CSU history to be named to the AVCA All-American squad, on the third team, only the third junior in CSU volleyball history to earn the honor...One of only three players in the NCAA to be in the Top 10 for both hitting percentage and blocks per game.

Played in 27 matches and 97 games...Finished the year with 306 kills...Hit .286 on 306-116-664...Led the team with 31 service aces and averaged a team-high 0.32 assists per game...Set career highs with 24 kills and an attack percentage of .514 (24-5-37), against Utah...Had 47 attacks at UNLV...Recorded her 500th career kill, against TCU...Finished with 101 blocks, her second consecutive season with at least 100...Is averaging 1.13 blocks per game for her career, ninth in school history...Named to the Mountain West All-Conference and Mountain West all-tournament teams.

Started all 30 matches for the Rams...Became just the fifth freshman in CSU history to record 100 blocks, against TCU on Nov. 15...Ended the season with 129 blocks, tied for second on CSU's freshman single-season chart...Tied the MWC tournament record for blocks by a freshman with nine against New Mexico in the quarterfinals...Also ranked third on the freshman charts in block assists, fourth in hitting percentage and ninth in kills...Notched 14 kills three times and hit a season-best .474 against Texas Tech.

Redshirted in her first season at Colorado State.

High School
Was a three-sport athlete for the Grizzlies, playing volleyball and basketball, and competing in track and field...Was a 2003 all-state selection in volleyball and helped the Grizzlies win the 5A state championship in basketball to climax the 2002-03 season...Did not play basketball her senior season...Named second-team all-state in volleyball in 2004 by the Rocky Mountain News...Had 15 blocks in a match twice as a senior, totaling 184 on the year, which led all players at the 5A level...Also played club volleyball for Front Range, which qualified for USA Volleyball's Junior Olympic Championships.

Full name is Mekana Denai Barnes...Father is Robert Barnes...Has one younger sister, Britney, and three younger brothers, Trent, Teray and Christopher...Was born in Pasadena, Calif., on Oct. 29, 1986.
