FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado State women's tennis team will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., this week to compete in the ITA Mountain Regionals for its final tournament of the fall season. The tournament will be held Wednesday through Sunday.
Last season at the ITA Mountain Regional, the Rams sent four players to compete, Tori Arneson, Caitlin Fluegge, Lauren Mulhern and Veronika Wojakowska. The Rams concluded the tournament with a record of 5-8 in singles and 2-2 in doubles throughout the four-day competition.
This year the Rams will bring five players: Tori Arneson, Lauren Mulhern, Kaley Schultz, Lauren Pick and Natalie Heffron.
Last weekend the Rams prepared themselves for regional competition by competing in the Gaucho Classic in Santa Barbra, Calif. The Rams faced six non-conference opponents: Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, Northern Arizona, Loyola Marymount and Wyoming.
Freshman Natalie Heffron won two of her three matches. The loss was the only defeat in six fall tournament matches.
The ITA Regional will conclude the fall season play for CSU. The Rams will return to the courts Jan. 28 against Denver and will host their first home match Feb. 17 against Idaho.
