Colorado State tennis players Sanja Hansson and Dasha Zhurin were ranked in singles and doubles in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, which were released on June 6.

Hansson, a senior from Helsingborg, Sweden was ranked #11, the highest ranking in Colorado State’s history. She completed her final season at Colorado State with a 27-7 singles record and was named to the Mountain West All-Conference team for the second straight year.

Zhurin, a sophomore from Fort Collins, was ranked #27. She had a successful sophomore campaign going 19-13 in singles play. Zhurin also teamed up with Hansson in doubles play and the two are ranked #12 in the doubles rankings, which is the highest ranking achieved by any CSU doubles team.

“These rankings reflect the improvement and success our team had this year,” said head coach Jon Messick. “We expect our team to continue to have an impact in our region as we work toward post-season NCAA Tournament play.”

As a team, the Rams were ranked 15th out of 35 schools in the central region.
