SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Mountain West announced its 2011-12 women's tennis all-conference awards Thursday evening, among the awards was Colorado State's own, Natalie Heffron.

Each season, coaches around the conference put together a list of the top 14 players that they believe lead the conference. Heffron is the first Freshman in recent years to be honored with the award for the Rams.

"Obviously a lot of teams' top No. 1 got all conference and for someone on our team thats playing at No 2, is a pretty big accomplishment," said Head Coach Jon Messick.

Being one of three freshman to win the award in the conference this season, Heffron was accompanied by TCU's Simona Parajova and Stesanie Tan, who was awarded with freshman of the year.

Heffron led the Rams in victories, tallying a 21-10 victory in singles throughout the season. In three of the Rams' 20 duals this season, Heffron was the sole player to notch a victory for Colorado State.

"It says a lot for our future there," said Messick. "We have had some really good play from our younger players this season and it give us a lot to look forward to."
