The Colorado State women’s tennis team captured its fourth-straight 7-0 victory with a win over Southern Utah Tuesday in Las Vegas.

CSU’s doubles teams won all three matches with an 8-4 win at No. 1, an 8-2 victory at No. 2 and an 8-6 win at No. 3.

In singles play, senior Dasha Zhurin and junior Jessica Jones each won their matches 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Sophomore Emily Kirchem gave up just one point in No. 2 singles while senior Alex Paganetti surrendered a lone point at the No. 6 position.

Anne Andersen claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 while Carla Pallares won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 to round out CSU’s scoring for the day.

“We played poorly in doubles but really came back and dominated in singles today,” commented head coach Jon Messick.

The win improves CSU’s record to 6-2 on the year. The Rams will remain in Las Vegas to face Idaho State on Wednesday before matching up with Bradley on Thursday.
