The Colorado State womenís tennis team was defeated by the No. 71 University of Nebraska on Sunday at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb. The loss sends CSUís dual record to 1-1 on the year and extends NUís home non-conference winning streak to 56 matches.
The Rams, who suffered the 6-1 defeat, won at the No. 2 singles position where Emily Kirchem defeated Husker Imke Reimers 6-4, 6-2. At the No. 6 spot freshman Anne Andersen forced a third set with Katie Garcia before falling 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. In doubles, CSUís No. 1 tandem of Dasha Zhurin and Emily Kirchem fell 8-5 while No. 2 fell 8-3 and No. 3 lost 8-1.
Colorado State will away from competition until February 12 when they host New Mexico State at the Miramont Tennis Center in Fort Collins.
