Tennis recap: Colorado State concludes day four at regionals

By Cara Maio FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women’s tennis team finished day three and four of the ITA Mountain Regionals in Las Vegas, Friday and Saturday. Despite not making it to the third round, the Rams came up strong in the consolation brackets. Freshman Abby Stevens defeated Aubrey Paul of BYU, 6-1, 7-6. Sophomore Natalie Heffron won 7-6, 6-3 over Montana’s Ashley Mackey. Junior Kaley Schultz won against Denver’s Michelle Garpenlov, 6-1, 6-2. In the consolation double matches the Rams struggled to win one out of three matches. Schultz and freshman Kendall Heitzner won 8-3 over Utah State. Colorado State will return to the ITA Mountain Region Championships tomorrow to conclude the tournament. In addition to the consolation singles and doubles matches that the Rams will participate in, the final round of singles and doubles will be played. Friday’s results:
