LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Colorado State women's tennis team advanced three players to day three of the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Fretitta Tennis complex.
Two doubles pairs competed in match play Thursday. Lauren Mulhern and Kaley Schultz went undefeated as they advanced to the third round of doubles, while Lauren Pick and Tori Arneson dropped sole doubles match for the day.
Mulhern and Schultz swept Desiree Tran and Lisa Waldron of BYU in the first round of doubles, 8-0.
Unfortunately the Rams did not have the same luck in their second doubles match in the first round. Pick and Arneson managed just one game against Sasa Nemcova and Christa Gecheva of Wyoming, 8-1.
Advancing to the second round of doubles, Schultz and Mulhern maintained their competitive edge, defeating Nives Pavlovio and Manin de Lanlay of UNLV in a close, 9-8, match.
In the consolation bracket of the singles draw, Schultz saw more success as she defeated Kimberly Watts of Utah State, 6-4, 6-0. Pick did not see much success after falling in doubles play, falling in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, to Juliette Legandre from the University of Nevada.
The Rams will return to play Friday for the third round of doubles, first round of consolation doubles, and second round of consolation singles.

Lauren Mulhern/Kaley Schultz (CSU) def. Desiree Tran/Lisa Waldron (BYU) 8-0
Sasa Nemcova/Christa Gecheva (WYO) def. Tori Arneson/Lauren Pick (CSU) 8-1
Round 2 doubles:
Lauren Mulhern/Kaley Schultz (CSU) def. Nives Pavlovic/Manon de Lanlay (UNLV) 9-8
Kaley Schultz (CSU) def. Kimberly Watts (USU) 6-4, 6-0
Juliette Legandre (UN) def. Lauren Pick (CSU) 6-4, 6-3
