FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Kaitlynn Jackson, a junior transfer from North Texas, will join the Rams’ swimming and diving team for the 2012-13 season. Head Coach Woody Woodard made the announcement Friday.
While at North Texas, Jackson was named to the North Texas Presidents list (3.5-3.99 GPA) in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. Her best time of 4 minutes, 27.99 seconds in the 400 IM currently ranks second in the Mean Green all-time records.
A native of Littleton, Colo., Jackson attended Columbine High School. In 2009 she was named MVP for her school record performances in the 100 Free and three relays: 200 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay. She also qualified for the USA Swimming Junior Nationals in the 200 IM and finished first in the same event at Colorado Long Course State.
As a junior Jackson was an athlete representative on Colorado Swimming, Inc. Board of Directors. She graduated from Columbine in the top 5 percent of class.
Jackson is the seventh athlete and second transfer that will join the Rams this fall. CSU announced Erin Foster, a transfer from Virginia Tech and Mary Foster’s sister, in January.
