CSU's Schneider Posts Strong Finish in NCAA Swimming Championships

Colorado State senior Kristen Schneider closed out one of the most successful careers in Ram swimming history with solid performances in the NCAA Swiming & Diving championships in College Station, Tex., March 18-20.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native, recorded a 36th place finish in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:15.81 on Thursday before touching the wall in 22nd in the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.32) on Friday. The senior then came in 19th in the 200-meter backstroke on the final day of the Championships with a time of 2:12.43.

Schneider leaves her mark at CSU by becoming the only Ram to compete in four consecutive NCAA Championships and holds more school records than any other Colorado State swimmer in school history. Kristen was also named as the school's first conference swimmer of the year since 1996 when Kristin Elliot was hearlded as the league's top swimmer.
