Hey Rammie Fans!
I hope you’re all doing well and are geared up for summer! This past weekend was bittersweet as we celebrated Senior Day and had our final home games of the season. Senior Day dawned with great sun-shiny weather and there was excitement in the air. Our three seniors, Shannon Causgrove, Kim Klabough, and Michelle Reynolds were all honored before the game and brought their parents out on the field to be recognized as well. We have many senior day traditions at CSU like decorating the locker room, making fun posters for the field, and getting the seniors lots of silly goodies! To put a cherry on top of the cake, we also defeated the San Diego State Aztecs, 7-4. The weekend was closed with our team banquet. We usually wait until the conclusion of our season to hold this event, but this year we felt this weekend was the appropriate time. It was a fun time to celebrate our season, recognize our seniors, and watch an awesome slideshow.
With our last games at home this past weekend, we are coming up near the end of conference play with two final weekends of games. This weekend we will be traveling to play the University of New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque, N.M. We have beaten the Lobos twice so far this season and hope to make it a sweep with our game on Saturday. This game will also be televised on our conference television station, The Mtn., at 4 p.m. MT. We hope that if you aren’t able to come and watch you can support us through the tube! This is our only televised game of the year and the first one for the freshmen so it should be an awesome and exciting experience for all!
Next weekend we will wrap up conference play with a four-game series in Utah. We will travel to the University of Utah for a doubleheader against the Utes on May 7. Then we will play single games the next two consecutive days against BYU. We won our first game against Utah a few weeks back and hope that we can also sweep this series as well. BYU was our first conference foe this season, and we are very excited that we also get to close out conference against them. This will be a great testament to our determination and drive throughout this conference season and will show how hard we’ve worked to stay in the race for conference champs.
Thanks so much for all your support throughout the season! We appreciate you all so very much and can’t wait to see you soon!
Jenna and Al
