FRESNO, Calif. – Colorado State junior Caitlan Stem gave the Rams a 1-0 lead in the third inning, but Cal State Northridge battled back and scored three unanswered runs to grab a 3-1 victory in eight innings at Bulldog Diamond.

Freshman Brianna Donahue scored the only run for Colorado State when Stem doubled in the third inning with two outs.

Sophomore Kelli Eubanks kept the Matadors (8-12) off of the scoreboard until the sixth inning when Alexandria Alvarado homered to lead off the frame.

Lauren Olivas was placed on second base to begin the eighth inning and gave Cal State Northridge the 2-1 advantage when Jaci Carlson doubled. Carlson’s double also plated Alvarado after she walked earlier in the inning.

The Rams (12-8) were unable to score in the bottom half of the inning and fell to the Matadors, 3-1.

Eubanks tossed her ninth complete game of the season, recording six strikeouts while only allowing five hits.

Colorado State returns to the diamond Friday against Mississippi State at 5:30 p.m. MT followed by an 8 p.m. MT first pitch against tournament-host Fresno State.
