FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State Rams women’s soccer program will open up its 2014 campaign on Saturday when the team hosts Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m. MT in an exhibition match.

The match will be played on campus at ‘The Lagoon,’ the field just west of the Lory Student Center, and will provide the Rams with their final tuneup before the regular season begins on Aug. 22 at Colorado.

CSU has been busy this preseason getting ready for the season-opener with intense two-a-day sessions as well as a team trip over the past weekend to Steamboat Springs. The Rams are entering their second season as a program and are looking to improve off of a 2-13-3 record from 2013. Colorado State ended the inaugural season on a positive note, earning a 2-2 draw at Northern Colorado, and is looking to carry that momentum into 2014.

CSU returns its entire starting defense from last year while also adding plenty of depth and talented attacking options. The 2014 Rams feature 10 returning players from last year’s team as well as 20 newcomers, including six transfers.

Fans are encouraged to attend the free match on campus to get a first-look at the 2014 Rams.
