FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Head Coach Bill Hempen announced the addition of Chris Bentley to the coaching staff of Colorado State’s women’s soccer program on Tuesday.
Bentley joins Hempen and Assistant Coach Kelly Labor as an assistant coach after nine years of coaching at the Division I, II and III levels.
Bentley began his coaching career at Ripon College (NCAA Division III), where he was an assistant coach for the men's soccer team. After a year at Ripon College, Bentley moved up the ranks and accepted the job of associate head coach for the men's and women's soccer teams at Delta State University (NCAA Division II).
At DSU, Bentley to the teams to new heights, where both programs set records for most wins in a season. After three years at Delta State, Bentley was afforded the opportunity to take over the assistant coach position at Troy University (NCAA Division I).
After just one season as an assistant coach, Bentley was promoted to head coach, where he helped guide the team to four-consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championship berths. After totaling just 50 wins in its 11 seasons before Bentley took over as head coach, the program amassed 54 wins in six years under his direction
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Bentley earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and his Master's Degree from Delta State University. In addition, Bentley has earned the USSF "A" License, NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma, and NSCAA National Youth Diploma. He is currently a staff coach for the State (AL), Region III, and Super Y National Olympic Development Program's.
