Next on the tee...
The Colorado State women’s golf team travels to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the 11th Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 21-23. It marks the Rams’ fifth, and final, tournament of the fall season. The event is hosted by UNLV.

The tournament field...
The 2012 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown will feature 17 teams. Colorado State, No. 119 in the latest GolfWeek team rankings, will face off against three other Mountain West foes in host (41) UNLV, (79) Fresno State and (86) San Diego State. Other programs competing in Las Vegas are: (89) Idaho, (46) Indiana, (68) Kansas State, (77) Kennesaw State, (81) Long Beach State, (63) Minnesota, (70) Mississippi State, (51) Missouri, (145) New Mexico State, (171) North Texas, (27) Penn State, (49) Washington State and (43) Wisconsin.

The Rams’ lineup...
The Rams will use their fourth lineup of the season. Junior Besty Kelly, coming off a top-5 finish at the Prices “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate, will compete at the No. 1 for the first time this season, while Emily Roering, who notched a tie for 10th in her last outing, will slide into the Rams’ No. 2 slot. Juniors Christina Spinzig will remain in the Rams’ lineup for the fifth time this fall, playing at No. 3 for the Rams.  Senior Cecilie Krefting and junior Sarah Roering will play at the Nos. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.  Each is playing in her third tournament of the fall, and second in the Rams’ lineup, as both Krefting and Sarah Roering have also seen action as individuals this fall. 

The setting...
The Rams will tee off this week at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev. The course features a par-72 layout that sprawls 6,230 yards.

Rams’ last tournament...
Colorado State notched its best performance of the season at the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate, notching season lows for singel-round scoring (289) and three-round total (891), while posting the team’s top finish of the fall schedule.  In addition, several individuals posted bests, while Betsy Kelly and Emily Roering tied for fourth and 10th, respectively, their best individual finishes of the year.
