Next on the tee...
The Colorado State women's golf team resumes play Thursday through Saturday at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico, at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.  Tee times for the first and second rounds begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, followed by a shotgun start for the final round on Saturday, also at 8.

The Course...
The tournament will be held at the 6,671-yard,  par-73 University of New Mexico Championship Course.

The field...
The tournament field consists of 16 of the top golf programs in the country, including all seven (BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, TCU and Wyoming) Mountain West Conference women's golf programs.  Other schools competing in the tournament are Campbell, Colorado, Hawaii,  Indiana, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Texas, UC-Davis and UTEP.

Rams' lineup...
The Rams golfers set to compete in the tournament are Kasey Claussen, Cecilia Edlund, Stefanie Ferguson, Melissa Martin and Natalie Stone.  Freshman Brianna Espinoza will also compete in the tournament as an individual.

Forming a habit...
Dating back to the final two tournaments of 2007-08, the Colorado State women's golf team has captured three consecutive top 10 finishes.  CSU kept the streak alive with a strong showing at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, Sept. 7-8.

Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic Recap...
The Rams improved with each round at their only home event of the season, firing a final-round 289 to ascend two spots into eighth place in the final 18 holes.  Junior Kasey Claussen and sophomore Cecilia Edlund shot consistently throughout the tournament to finish tied for 27th at 5-over-par.  Senior Stefanie Ferguson finished two strokes behind Claussen and Edlund in a tie for 36th, alongside freshman Melissa Martin, who stormed back with a team-best final round of 70 to finish strong in her first collegiate tournament.  Fellow freshman Brianna Espinoza opened strong with a 74 in Round 1, but trailed off on the third day to finish at 11-over.
