FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State redshirt junior-to-be Mikayla Tatman qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship last week at Saddle Rock Golf Course in Aurora, Colo.

The Longmont native finished in a tie for second after carding a 75. She will advance to play the championship in Dupont, Wash., which will be held July 14-19.

Tatman began the round four-over par through three holes before playing the final 14 holes at one-under, including a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole to cement her spot in the final Public Links, which will be discontinued after 38 years.

“This is probably my biggest accomplishment in my golf career to date,” Tatman said. “It’s very exciting to be able to go to the last Publinks. It will be good experience to compete against some of the top golfers in the nation, and see where my game stacks up.”

CSU women’s golf head coach Annie Young won this event in 2002, when it was played at the Sunriver Resort located just outside of Bend, Ore.
