Women's golf wraps up fall slate

LAS VEGAS -- The Colorado State University women's golf team concluded its fall season Wednesday at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown at the Angel Park Mountain Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev. The Rams finished the tournament 17th place with a team total of 920 (308-312-300). In-state rival Denver captured the team title with an 858 (285-285-288). Arizona (869), Kent State, Tennessee (874) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, while Oklahoma State and Mountain West Conference-foe New Mexico tied for fifth place with a 22-over-par 886. Sophomore Kasey Claussen fired a final-round 1-over-par 72, moving up seven spots in the standings, to finish in a tie for 21st at 5 over par (221). Junior Stefanie Ferguson (73-78-77--228) and freshman Kayley Kempton (78-76-74--228) finished tied for 51st. Sophomore Natlaie Stone tied for 88th with a three-round total of 247, while freshman Sarah Anast rounded out the Rams' lineup with a 257. The Colorado State women's basketball team will be on the course again beginning in February with the Fresno State Invitational in Fresno, Calif., Feb. 25-26, 2008. 17 Colorado State 308-312-300--902
