The Colorado State women's golf team is in seventh place at the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational after two rounds at the par-72, 7,207-yard Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas . The Rams shot rounds of 320 and 318 to finish with a team total of 638.
Freshman Kayley Kempton led the way for the Rams, tying for 12th place after shooting 77 in the first round and 78 in the second round. Sophomore Kasey Claussen is in 27th place with a two-round total of 158 (79-79).
Junior Stefanie Ferguson and freshman Cecilia Edlund are tied for 43rd round with a total of 164 through 36 holes. Ferguson opened up the day with a first round 80, followed by an 84 in Round 2. Edlund opened with a first round score of 85, but bounced back with a 79 in Round 2. Sophomore Natalie Stone is tied for 53rd with a two-round total of 166 (84-82).
"It was very windy and the course was playing extremely difficult today," said coach Angie Hopkins. "Stefanie (Feruson) and Natalie (Stone) have not been feeling well, and played tough rounds today."
Round 3 will tee off with a shotgun start Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.
