Sept. 24, 2013

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The women’s golf team wrapped up the final round at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational shooting a 314 at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan.

Colorado State, which secured a tie for sixth place with Nebraska after carding a three-round total of 960, shot the third lowest score on Tuesday.

CSU was led by strong individual rounds from seniors Emily Roering and Betsy Kelly. Roering shot a three-over 75 to finish at 16th place and Kelly carded her second-consecutive round of four-over par and finished just outside the top 20 at 21.

The Rams moved up three positions after day one to earn their best finish of the year.

Jessa LaBarbera finished the tournament shooting a 242, while Sarah Roering and Mikayla Tatman posted three-round totals of 250.

CSU will tee off again on Nov. 12 in Palm Desert, Calif., at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate.
