ERIE, Colo. - Senior Brianna Espinoza closed out her CSU career at the NCAA West Regional at Colorado National Golf Club on Saturday. Espinoza had a strong third round and was able finish the 126-player tournament in 34th.

"Bri had a good round but just couldn't get any momentum going," said Head Coach Angie Collier. "She hit 13 greens but only had 2 birdies. She really had to play lights out today to have a chance for Nationals and it just didn't happen."

Espinoza carded a 76-73-73=222 (+6) for the tournament. Her three-round total of 222 is the lowest score posted by a Ram golfer in NCAA tournament history and her 34th place finish is the second best in CSU history.

Catherine O'Donnell (-7) of North Carolina took home the individual title, followed by Austin Ernst (-6) of LSU and Hayley Davis (-4) of Baylor.

Espinoza's career numbers are some of the best in CSU history. Collier commented on Espinoza's season and what she means to CSU women's golf.

"Bri tops our record books with the lowest stroke average in a season and has set the bar high for our future CSU golfers," Collier said.  "We will miss her steady play and leadership next year. It is impossible to replace a kid like Bri but we look forward to another successful season of Ram golf."
