PEORIA, Ariz. - The Colorado State women’s golf team concluded Day 1 in 12th at the Westbrook Spring Invitational at Westbrook Golf Club. The final round will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. MST and the team intends to take advantage of missed opportunities from the first two rounds.
"We definitely left some shots out there and we are looking forward to a better day," said Head Coach Angie Collier, referring to Monday.
Illinois is leading the tournament with a three-round total of 570, followed closely by Texas Tech (572), and Washington State (579).
Nora Lucas of Illinois and Gabriella Dominquez of Texas Tech are co-leaders at 137 (-7). Haley Koschmann (-6), also of Illinois, is in third.
CSU’s Brianna Espinoza and Betsy Kelly (+3) are currently tied for 19th and are in prime position to record top-20 finishes. Collier was happy with the way Espinoza and Kelly finished the day.
“Brianna and Betsy got off to a slow start but finished strong," Collier stated.
The Rams’ Sarah Roering was able to move up several spots in the second round and is now tied for 42nd at +7. Cecilie Krefting is +9 and Haley King is +20.
