Colorado State (2-6) is looking to turn things around back home vs. CSU Bakersfield (2-8) at Moby Arena (8,745) Sunday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. MT.

Five out of the Rams' first seven games this season have been against opponents who've competed in the postseason in 2012. This will be just the third foe Colorado State will face with a below-.500 record this year. The last time was at Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane got the better of the Rams, as CSU fell prey to the shooting bug in the second half.

The Roadrunners are visiting Fort Collins after a tough loss in overtime to MW foe Air Force on Thursday. The Falcons sunk a three to send the game into extra minutes, and AFA outlasted CSU Bakersfield in the final stretch, winning 82-78.

With the return of two-time all-conference selection, Sam Martin, and the reigning Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year, Meghan Heimstra, the Rams will look to improve upon last season's 13-17 record. Sophomore LaDeyah Forte leads Colorado State from the point guard position. She finished second in assist-to-turnover ratio in the MW in her rookie year.

The game will be broadcast live on AM 1410 KIIX. Matt Wozniak, now in his fourth season with the Rams, calls all the action. Live game video will also be available for all home contests via Rams All-Access subscription on CSURams.com, and for the first time, fans will be able to listen to every Rams' game for free on Rams All-Access.

  • Defensively the 6-foot, 4-inch Coffee leads the team in rebounds with 11.0 per matchup. She is expected to play Sunday, after missing eight games.
  • The Runners have two victories, both on the road, this season and have a 2-3 away record. Their first was over Northern Arizona on Nov. 12 (71-68), and the last was at UC Irvine (71-64) on Dec. 9.
  • As a team, CSUB gets the better of its opponents in turnovers (plus-1.8) and steals (plus-1.5).
  • The Runners are 90-0 when holding their opponents under 60 points.
  • Head Coach Greg McCall is in his second year at the helm of the Roadrunners' squad. He spent four seasons as an assistant before taking over the reigns. Last season due to injuries, CSUB suited up just six players in eight contests, finishing the year with a 7-22 record. Bakersfield returns three starters and seven letterwinners from last year's team.
  • Currenlty an independent, CSU Bakersfield accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference in all sports beginning in the fall of 2013.

Series vs. the Roadrunners...
Sunday's meeting between Colorado State and Bakersfield will be the second game between the two schools. This is Head Coach Ryun Williams second contest vs. the Roadrunners. He is 0-1 vs. CSUB with a loss in Bakersfield.

The Rams are 1-0 vs. CSUB. This is the first time to two teams will meet on the Moby floor.

Last time vs. CSU Bakersfield...
Two crucial free throws and a late layup by Sam Martin gave Colorado State a two-point lead with 20 seconds left that it wouldn't relinquish as the Rams defeated Bakersfield 65-63 at the Icardo Center Jan. 4, 2012.

CSU earned its first road win of the season and its first win since Dec. 11, improving to 4-10 on the year.

Sam Martin proved to be the game's clutch player, totaling a game-high 21 points, shooting a .643 percentage, making nine field goals.

Freshmen LaDeyah Forte and Kara Spotton scored career highs on the night. Forte tallied 15 points, topping her previous high of 10 just before the halftime buzzer. Spotton recorded 17 points, besting her previous score of nine.

Colorado State played against a lineup of only seven players for Bakersfield. Five members from the Roadrunners (3-15) squad fell prey to knee injuries earlier this year, including three season-ending ACL injuries.

The game featured the 10th different starting lineup so far this season for the Rams. It was Morgan Hunt's first collegiate start, and it was also the first game since Feb. 2, 2010 that Kim Mestdagh did not start. She came off the bench in only two contests that year in her sophomore season.
