Colorado State's Mestdagh receives another Player of the Week award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State sophomore Kim Mestdagh was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Mestdagh led the Rams to a pair of wins over Texas State (66-54) and Delaware (67-44) in the Coors Rocky Mountain Invitational held last weekend in Fort Collins, Colo. The Ieper, Belgium, native averaged 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game on her way to earning the Most Valuable Player award for the tournament. Against Texas State, Mestdagh scored what was then a career-high 22 points on 7-of-12 (.583) shooting from the field and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) beyond the arc, while also pulling down four rebounds. She went on to top her career high in the championship game vs. Delaware with a 25-point performance on 8-of-13 shooting (.615). Mestdagh made 7-of-12 (.583) from three-point range, was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line and collected another four rebounds against the Blue Hens. This marks Mestdagh's second weekly honor of the season. After defeating Delaware, the team looks for its first victory on the road Tuesday as the Rams travel to Idaho to take on the Vandals. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MT from the Cowan Spectrum Arena.
