Complete Release

Colorado State (2-3) travels on to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face the Falcons (3-3) at the Stroh Center (4,387) on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. MT.

The Rams next three away games are at opponents from last season. CSU lost to Bowling Green and Colorado at home last year, but earned its first win of the 2011-12 season over Tulsa at Moby Arena.

With the return of two-time all-conference selection, Sam Martin, and the reigning Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year, Meghan Heimstra, the Rams will look to improve upon last season’s 13-17 record. Sophomore LaDeyah Forte leads Colorado State from the point guard position. She finished second in assist-to-turnover ratio in the MW in her rookie year.

 Bowling Green lost its first home game Wednesday vs. Temple, 70-56. The Falcons are now 2-1 at the Stroh Center.

The game will be broadcast live on AM 1410 KIIX. Matt Wozniak, now in his fourth season with the Rams, calls all the action. Live game video will also be available via Rams All-Access subscription on CSURams.com, and for the first time, fans will be able to listen to every Rams' game for free on Rams All-Access.

Scouting Bowling Green…   

• Head Coach Jennifer Roos is in her first season at the helm of the Falcons’ program. She spent 11 seasons as an assistant, including eight as the associate head coach before being promoted upon former Head Coach Curt Miller’s departure to Indiana.
• The Falcons advanced to the WNIT last season, falling in the first round to VCU at home. BGSU finished 2011-12 with a 24-7 record.
• BGSU was picked to finish second in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. Alexis Rogers and Chrissy Steffen were two of the four returning starters from Bowling Green named to the East’s Preseason All-MAC team.
• Steffen leads the team in points per game with 12.3, followed by Jillian Halfhill and Danielle Havel with 9.5 and 9.2, respectively. Havel leads the team on the glass, with 6.0 rebounds per game, with Alexis Rogers just behind with 5.8 boards.
• Temple was hot, shooting 61.5 percent in the second half Wednesday night, handing Bowling Green its first double-digit loss since the Stroh Center opened in 2011. Steffen and Rogers were the two top scorers for the Falcons, with 13 points apiece.

Series vs. the Falcons...    
Saturday's meeting between Colorado State and Bowling Green will be the second game between the two schools. This is Head Coach Ryun Williams first contest vs. the Falcons.

The Rams are 0-1 vs. BGSU overall, with a loss last year at Moby.

Last time vs. Bowling Green...  
The Colorado State women’s basketball team lost to the Bowling Green Falcons, 70-57, on New Year’s Eve at Moby Arena.

The Rams (3-10) started in a strong fashion with a 13-4 run to begin the game, but Bowling Green (10-3) came back even stronger to lead by seven at halftime.

Sophomore Sam Martin had 12 points and four rebounds.  Senior Kim Mestdagh couldn’t find her hot-spot for the game and only ended up with seven points. Junior Meghan Heimstra recorded nine rebounds and 12 points, playing 27 minutes.

Bowling Green had 12 second-chance points off of the Rams’ 17 turnovers.

Playing in her first game of her career, freshman Hanne Mestdagh got to see some action for five minutes.
