A busy non-conference slate and a conference home opener against BYU, the defending Mountain West champion, highlight the 2007-08 women's basketball schedule, released by Colorado State today.
"I like our schedule," Director of Athletics Paul Kowalczyk said. "I think Jen Warden and her staff have tried to put themselves in the best competitive situation possible with her young team."
That non-conference lineup includes a home opener with Metro State (Oct. 31) and other home contests against San Francisco (Nov. 13), Colorado (Dec. 1), Pacific (Dec. 4) and New Mexico State (Dec. 29). In addition, the Rocky Mountain Invitational tournament will bring Kent State, Navy and Creighton to Fort Collins, Nov. 23-24.
The Rams have road dates at Northern Iowa (Nov. 9), Missouri-Kansas City (Nov. 17), Northern Colorado (Nov. 20), Denver (Nov. 28), Weber State (Dec. 8), Idaho (Dec. 18) and Portland (Dec. 21).
CSU begins conference play at UNLV (Jan. 9), then hosts BYU (Jan. 12). The New Mexico Lobos, who defeated the Cougars in the 2007 Mountain West tournament championship, travel to Moby Arena Feb. 6.
Tickets are expected to be available later this month in-person at the McGraw Center ticket office, over the phone by calling 1-800/491-RAMS, or through the official Web site, CSURAMS.com.
