Complete Release

Colorado State (11-11, 3-6) is at home vs. the Air Force Falcons (3-19, 0-9) Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. MT at Moby Arena. The Rams are undefeated under Head Coach Kristen Holt vs. the Falcons.

The Falcons are coming off a loss at TCU, 77-47, Saturday. Kelsey Berger and Raimee Beck each scored in double figures for Air Force, with 14 and 12 respectively, but it wasn't enough to overcome the top-rated Horned Frogs, who shot 51.9 percent on the afternoon.

The game will be broadcast live on The Mtn. and on AM 1410 KIIX. Brian Roth calls the action while Matt Wozniak provides color analysis. Live game audio will also be available via Rams All-Access subscription on CSURams.com.

Rams vs. Falcons  series...
Tuesday's meeting between Colorado State and Air Force marks the 43rd overall game between the two schools.

Colorado State holds a 32-10 advantage in the all-time series, and is 15-3 in Fort Collins. The Rams are currently 3-0 under Head Coach Kristen Holt vs. the Falcons.

Last meeting...
The Falcons (3-12, 0-2) made it a four-point game with 3.6 seconds left, but the Rams (9-6, 1-1) hit clutch free throws and were able to hold off Air Force, 74-68, at Clune Arena on Jan. 9.

The win was the second road victory the Rams had this season.

AFA junior Raimee Beck was held to only 11 points, getting nine of those points with only minutes left in the game. Starter Zoi Simmons and freshman Chantel Kennedy were the two players guarding her for the majority of the game.

Kim Mestdagh got out of a two-game scoring slump, recording her 13th double-digit game of the season and her seventh game with 20 points or more.

Chatilla van Grinsven shot 82 percent from the line, hitting nine of 11 free throws in the contest. She had 17 points on the afternoon.

Two other players scored in double figures, giving the Rams four total for the second time this season. Meghan Heimstra put up 10 points and Bonnie Barbee hit three three-pointers and two free throws for 11 points.

Last time out...
Colorado State stuck with Wyoming in front of a crowd of 4,100 through the first half, but costly fouls allowed the Cowgirls to pull away in the second to win, 69-52, at the Arena Auditorium on Saturday.

Sophomores Kim Mestdagh and Natalie van den Adel registered double figures on the afternoon, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively. Freshman Chantel Kennedy grabbed a career-high nine rebounds, three of which were offensive boards.

The Rams shut out the Cowgirls for almost 5 minutes at the start of the contest. Junior Randi Richardson hit a three-pointer at the 15:09 mark for Wyoming’s first score.

Colorado State applied a full-court press the entire game, taking seconds off Wyoming’s shot clock, but the Cowgirls were able to make half-time adjustments and found Emma Langford and Aubrey Vandiver, who were able to put up quick layups, to maintain their lead.

Wyoming’s Hilary Carlson and Vandiver both recorded double-doubles in the matchup. Carlson hit eight of nine free throws.

Building a program of excellence...
The Rams, now 11-11, are sitting in seventh place in the Mountain West Conference. With seven games remaining, the Rams have already surpassed their win total from last season. CSU hasn't won 11 games in one season since the 2004-05 campaign, when the team went 15-13 and finished in fifth place.

From the line...
Junior guard Zoi Simmons is second in the conference in free-throw percentage (.820). In the Rams' final non-conference game this season vs. South Dakota, Simmons hit six free throws in the final minute, when the Rams were clinging to a one-point lead and had not made a field goal since the 6:49 mark, to ice the win. She was 8-8 on the afternoon.

Heimstra well-balanced...
In 22 games this season sophomore forward Meghan Heimstra has scored a total of 191 points and has 179 rebounds. She leads the team in rebounds per game with 8.1 and is third in points with 8.7 per game. Defensively, the sophomore averages 5.7 boards per game, which puts her in third place in the conference. Heimstra has four double-doubles this season, and she recorded a career-high 14 rebounds in the Jan. 5 game vs. Wyoming.

Mestdagh sets record highs...
Sophomore Kim Mestdagh leads the Mountain West in both scoring and three-point field goals made. In 22 games this season, Mestdagh has 369 points, averaging 16.8 per game. She has hit 65 three pointers averaging 3.0 per game above second-place Amy Beggin of New Mexico, who has 51 beyond the arc.

In the Rams' matchup vs. South Dakota on Jan. 2, Mestdagh recorded six steals, a career-high, season team high, and tied for first in the conference this season.

Mestdagh’s 30 points Dec. 6 vs. Southern Illinois were the most by a CSU player in a 40-minute regulation game since Becky Hammon poured in 30, March 14, 1999, to lead the Rams to an 86-70 win over Southwest Missouri State in the second round of the NCAA tournament, in front of 8,741 Moby Arena fans. Sara Hunter had 41 in a 101-96 overtime loss vs. San Francisco on Nov. 13, 2007. Hammon scored 30 or more in eight games that season.

The Colorado State women's basketball contest at BYU in Provo, Utah, on Feb. 17 will be televised on BYU-TV live at 7 p.m. MT and then re-aired on The Mtn. Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. MT.
