Dec. 21, 2009
By Vanessa Nettingham FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado State women’s basketball team worked hard to get a win but fell short to Northern Colorado in Greeley, 65-56 at Butler Hancock Pavilion. The Rams had some personal bests tonight. Chantel Kennedy came up big in the end forcing three steals and she had seven points on the night. Chatilla Van Grisven scores a career high of a total of 22 points. “I feel like I have improved since the start of the season,” said Van Grinsven “My teammates expect that from me.” Northern Colorado out-rebounded the Rams on offense, 13-3, they also shot 93.8 percent from the line, while the Ram’s only shot 53.3 percent. “They would get the rebound after their shot,” said Coach Holt “They came ready to play tonight.” Junior guard Sara Hemmings made an appearance in tonight’s game after having sat out for the beginning of the season. Unfortunately her appearance back on the court was short lived playing only four-minutes after a nose injury forced her to sit out the rest of the game. Next the Rams have another short break before they head to Corpus Christi, Texas on Dec. 30. Tip of is set Islanders at 1 p.m. MT.
