LAS VEGAS (AP) - Sara Hunter and Elle Queen each scored a game-high 16 points to lead Colorado State over UNLV, 68-49, in the play-in round of the Mountain West Conference tournament as the Rams broke a 20-game losing streak Tuesday night.

Hunter was 4-of-8 from 3-point range, while Queen had seven rebounds for ninth-seeded Colorado State (3-27), which did not win a conference game this season in 16 tries.

The Rams now play top-seeded Utah, which is ranked No. 12 nationally, in the quarterfinal round Wednesday afternoon.

Juanise Cornell added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Amaka Uzomah had 7 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners.

With the game tied at 44-44 with 7:00 left in the game, Hunter scored the contest's next six points converting two 3-pointers, putting Colorado State up for good. That started a 15-2 run as the lead never got below 10 points the rest of the way.

Shamela Hampton led the No. 8 and host Rebels (8-22) with 16 points and six rebounds. Raquel Jupiter had eight points and nine rebounds for UNLV. The Rams from 3-point range converted 7-of-11 for 64 percent, while UNLV was 4-of-20 for 20 percent.

The Lady Rebels led for the majority of the first half, but never building more than a four-point lead. There were six ties in the half, including at intermission, 29-29.

There were five ties in the second half before Hunter's 3-pointers.
