While in Florida, Steven worked as the player registration and credentials assistant as a liaison to other tournament departments ensuring that all qualified attendees had the appropriate access credentials. With the Orange Bowl committee, Steven organized the events that took place for the Hall of Fame and Courage Award inductees. Prior to her arrival in Florida, Steven spent two seasons as an assistant for compliance and student services at Wichita State, where she earned her master's degree in education, sport management and administration. During that time Taylor was competing for the Shockers in her junior and senior seasons. As a graduate student, Corey served on the advisory board for WSU and was the executive vice president for the WSU Sport Management Student Association. A 2006 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Steven received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and sciences with an emphasis in biology. At UIC, Steven was captain of the tennis team and earned first-team all-conference two seasons while leading the Flames to conference championships in all four years. She began her work in the UIC athletic department as a front office receptionist in 2005 and later worked on the student-athlete advisory committee for the NCAA in Indianapolis, Ind., for three years. |
