Tia Davis, a former standout and all-Mid American Conference performer as a player at the University of Toledo, enters her first season as an assistant coach at Colorado State. She will work alongside Jenn Bradley in the development of Colorado State's guards.
From 2006-08, Davis served as a graduate assistant for the Cornhuskers, who earned back-to-back berths in the NCAA tournament in 2007 and 2008. While at Nebraska, Davis managed the Cornhuskers' recruiting database and assisted with team camps, practices and individual workouts, while overseeing the scout team. Prior to her work at Nebraska, Davis enjoyed a successful professional playing career in Switzerland and Luxembourg from 2003-05.
Davis was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at Toledo, helping the Rockets to a 76-42 (.644) record, and berths in the 2003 WNIT and 2001 NCAA tournament. Davis also earned numerous team and all-conference recognitions. She was a team co-captain and MVP and earned all-MAC tournament and first-team all-MAC honors during her playing career at Toledo. As a senior in 2002-03, she turned in her most impressive season, averaging 18.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, leading the team in each category. Davis ended her career ranked 16th in school history in scoring (1,099 career points).
In 2003, Davis worked as a basketball program coordinator for the National Youth Sports Program in Toledo, Ohio, organizing practices and individual drills for 25 teams from the ages of 7-16.
Davis graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and finance from Toledo and will completed her master's degree in education administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
