Senior Nolan Martin was named Mountain West Conference player of the month for October/November today.

Martin compiled one of the greatest single seasons in school history to earn the award. Martin competed in all six tournaments this fall and finished in the top seven in five of the those events. He was the team’s top finisher in five of six fall events and he also finished the fall with two victories, he was victorious in the Fresno “Lexus” Classic and the Ron Moore Invitational tournament. Those two victories made him one of only three players in school history to win two tournaments in a single season.

In the Nelson in Palo Alto, Calif. Martin put together a three round total of 203, the lowest score in school history. Also in the same tournament he recorded a 65 in the third round the lowest of his career and only the second 65 recorded in school history (Martin Laird).

Martin stayed consistent throughout the fall and shot under 70 in seven of his last 12 rounds of the season. Yet another incredible mark Martin set was lowest per round average on the team 69.89, ranking him 17th in the nation by Golfweek and it ties him for first place in the Mountain West Conference with teammate Martin Laird.

This marks the first time Martin has been named golfer of the month.
