Next on the tee
The Colorado State men’s golf team will head to Stockton, Calif., for the Pacific Invitational Monday-Wednesday. The tournament will wrap up the fall portion of the 2011-12 season. The 54-hole tournament will be split into three days of competition, 18 holes each day. Each round is slated to begin at 9 a.m. MT. Live stats will be available at GolfStat.com.
The course
The tournament will be played at the Brookside Country Club. Brookside is a par-71 course stretching 6,757 yards. The course was designed by world-renowned golf architect Robert “Bobby” Jones Jr.
The field
The 12-team field is made up of Pacific, BYU, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Kansas State, Marquette, Nevada, Oregon State, UC Davis and UNC Charlotte. Tournament host Pacific won the 2010 event with a 25-under 827.
Rams lineup
Zahkai Brown, Kirby Pettitt, Mike Sorenson, Cameron Harrell and Parker Edens will be swinging for Head Coach Jamie Bermel in Stockton this week. Brown is on top of the Mountain West in stroke average per round, among players with 10 or more rounds played, at 70.83. Pettitt is No. 3 in the standings with his 71.75 average.
