Rams golf heads back to California
Oct. 26, 2012
Next On The Tee "Last tournament I didn't really pay attention to the leader boards or scores and just focused on my own game," Kieffer said. "It's the ones who stay consistent that are the ones who come out on top, and consistency was my main goal of the week." Coach Newton will once again see his players against some of the heaviest competition in the country, but some much needed down-time will help his Rams heading into Stockton. "We have really tried to manage our fatigue level as well as maintain our academics since we have played five events in seven weeks," Coach Newton said. As for the upcoming tournament, "We aren't focused on a result. We are trying to remain focused on doing the little things right and the result will take care of itself." Play starts Monday, Oct. 29, and ends Wednesday, Oct. 31 with 18 holes being played each of the three days. Play will begin at 9 a.m. MT time Monday.
The Course The Pacific Invitational will be played at Brookside Country Club, which is a 6,777 yard par 72 golf course. Molded out of the fertile San Joaquin Valley landscape, world-renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. has created this championship course as picturesque as it is challenging.
